Director of Fleet Maintenance

MetroWest Regional Transit Authority is in search of a Director of Fleet Services and Maintenance Operations for their new Blandin Ave. Facility.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

1. Manage Maintenance Facility for Fleet of approximately 100 Type C, D, E and E2 cutaway Buses, several Sedans, as well as Service vehicles (light trucks, loader, skid steer and various snow equipment). 2. Coordinate, plan and administer a preventative maintenance and replacement program in order to minimize cost and maximize use of equipment and vehicles. 3. Utilize fleet management software to reduce costs and improve efficiency. 4. Coordinate and set expansive equipment priorities, managing and working with fleet and operations staff. 5. Review procurement requests for new replacement vehicles and equipment. 6. Maintain detailed logs of vehicles and equipment and work with IT department on developing an efficient and structured asset management software program. 7. Receive and process detailed vehicle accident and damage reports. 8. Prepare cost analysis and periodic management and operational reports. 9. Manage and work with maintenance staff to ensure that vehicles are properly inspected and designated for auction, as well as assigning the reuse of parts, where possible. 10. Act in a supervisory capacity in storm related events, to ensure there is minimal interruption of facility operations. 11. Manage a detailed parts inventory. 12. Coordinate and prioritize equipment repairs, with participation of maintenance designee. 2 13. Manage detailed fleet budget, in coordination with the Administrator. 14. Ensure compliance with departmental policies and directives. 15. Identify and coordinate equipment training needs. 16. Manage multiple assigned staff, including responsibility for performance management, discipline and authorization of overtime. 17. Serve as liaison between maintenance staff and the Administrator.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have at least (A) five years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional, administrative or managerial experience in business administration, business management or apprentice administration, the major duties of which involved program management, program administration, program coordination, program planning and/or program analysis and (B) of which at least five years must have been in a supervisory capacity, or (C) any equivalent combination of the required experience and substitutions below. Substitutions: I. Bachelor’s degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may substituted for a maximum of two years of the required (A) experience.* II. Graduate degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of three years of the required experience.* III. Bachelor’s or higher degree with a major other than in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required (A) experience.* *Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed. NOTE: No substitutions will be permitted for the required (B) experience. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a current and valid Massachusetts CDL, Class B Motor Vehicle Operator’s license, Passenger endorsement, Air Brake endorsement and Department of Public Safety Engineering License with a minimum of 2B hoisting license.

Preferred Qualifications:

Working knowledge of inventory control. Working knowledge and relevant experience in diagnosing and implementing repairs to light bus fleet and heavy equipment. Familiarity with Microsoft office computer software. Working knowledge of diagnostic equipment and use of computer software to diagnose problems. Must be available for on call emergencies, including snow and ice. Working knowledge of electronic farebox equipment for fixed route buses. Working knowledge of MDT Ranger GPS system. Working knowledge of Motorola 2-way radio systems Working knowledge of electronic destination signage and programming. 5 year experience with Ford cutaway chassis’s E350-E450. 5 year experience in front-end loader and snow removal operations. Working knowledge of OEM Ford parts inventory. Work experience with electrical wiring of current data installations. Transit Evaluation Associate

Hourly rate - $10.00 Job duties – Individual will evaluate trips based on their experience with the driver, other passengers, on time performance of schedule, schedule adherence… Individual will be expected, with the assistance of the program coordinator, to familiarize themselves with evaluation survey and assigned routes, prior to beginning their shift. MWRTA Call Center

Reservationist Needed 2014 The Authority is now accepting applications for a part time (19 hours per week) reservationist in our call center. Excellent customer service skills as well as computer knowledge a must. Flexible hours. Good work environment. Starting pay $12.00 per hour. Bus Operations- CDL (Commercial Drivers License) Required- April 2014

Drivers Wanted 2014 First Transit, the company providing the fixed route bus service for MWRTA, currently seeks applicants with among other pre-requisites, a professional demeanor witha a strong emphasis on customer service, a clean driving record, and CDL license with passenger endorsement. Thompson Transit, Inc. is seeking qualified applicants to drive our paratransit wheelchair vans to transport disabled individuals in the Metrowest area. Full and part-time morning and afternoon shifts are available - some including week-ends. Applicants must be at least 25 years of age and have a valid Massachusetts Drivers License. Assistant Network Administrator

MetroWest Regional Transit Authority (MWRTA) is a growing public agency that provides public transportation to the Metro West MA area. We provide a dynamic, friendly and flexible environment.

We are seeking a Part-Time Assistant Network Administrator to work at our Framingham, MA facility to assist in all areas of network and computer support, including in-vehicle technology components, help desk functions and administration of a Windows Server based local area network. Candidate would support existing director of technology. Approximate workload would be 10 - 15 hours/week

Duties Include:

Assist in all network maintenance activities Assist in keeping network secure and software up to date Windows and Hyper-V server maintenance, monitoring, and patch deployment Maintains and troubleshoots network performance, including firewall and network monitoring software Installs and maintains PCs, Printers, and related software Assists in recommending potentially new solutions for the Authority for hardware/software needs Backup maintenance and configuration Provides on call assistance to network users when necessary Assists in maintaining in vehicle technology equipment Maintain inventory listing of equipment

Requirements:

Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills Familiarity with existing and emerging network technologies Familiarity with Windows Server environments (see education and experience), WSUS, centralized antivirus administration, Site-to-Site VPN and related technologies Must be available for on call/reasonable response time activities

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems preferred Microsoft AD/Hyper-V Certifications preferred At least 4 years of professional directly related experience maintaining and administrating a Microsoft AD based environment and client operating systems strongly preferred NOTE : All other tasks that are not explicitly defined above but assigned by the MWRTA shall be performed to the best of the individual's capability
